Voters in school districts across southern Idaho will cast their ballots in bond and levy elections next Tuesday.
The West Ada School District (formerly Meridian) is the largest school district in the state. That bond levy for $104 million would build an elementary school, two middle schools, and remodel Meridian High School. This levy must have a two-thirds majority for it to pass.
Wilder is asking for a $598,000 levy over two years. The same levy was rejected in May by just 25 votes.
Council is looking for $78,000 over two years. School leaders say it would be used for textbooks and to reinstate summer school.
In Kuna, voters will cast their ballots on a recall election for school board trustee Michael Law. He opposed two proposed levies this last spring, saying taxpayers couldn't afford them. The first failed in March, but another passed in May.
