While most of us are getting ready for a Summer Vacation, the Boise Rescue Mission is gearing up for the Summer needs of homeless men, women, and especially children.  The rescue mission provides a special place for homeless kids during the Summer months when schools are closed.  Although the Treasure Valley gives during the Winter, the need is ever present during the months of June, July, and August.  "In the Summer time, the number of women and children in shelter goes up," says the Reverend Bill Roscoe, Chief Executive Officer of the mission.  The reason for the increase is that women that are in a dangerous or bad situation are inclined to leave after their children are out of school.  The Boise Rescue Mission provides shelter, food, job training, and educational programs for children and adults.

Reverend Bill details the importance and cost of these programs.  "By the end of the Summer, by the time the kids are ready to return to the classroom, they are better prepared than most students.  While the parents are rehabilitating or working, their children are given the opportunity to learn real school skills.  "We balance going field trips like the zoo and real computer training," says Roscoe.
