Fire officials think an overnight grass fire that spread to nearby homes may have been sparked by fireworks.
Boise Fire's Battalion Chief Jim Gross reports the grass fire was fought by 16 different fire crews that were called out to battle the flames as it spread to two homes.
The fire spread to the attic in one of the homes, leaving the house unlivable, according to Gross. The female resident in that home will be helped by the Burnout Fund.
Several homes were evacuated.
Witnesses reported hearing someone shooting off fireworks just before the blaze broke out near Protest Road and Federal Way.
