While Tom Holland’s introduction as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War has to be considered a roaring success, perhaps our favorite part of the character was what we didn’t see: namely, yet-another origin story that puts him through the familiar paces of spiders, wrestling, and that old yarn about great power and great responsibility. Any self-professed Spider-Man fan knows Peter Parker’s history like the back of his hand; the fact that Captain America: Civil War was content to pick up the character’s life midstream bodes well for Marvel’s approach to the character in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

But if you’re one of those fans who really needs to know how Peter Parker became Spider-Man  —  and I mean really, really needs to know  —  it looks like Marvel might have you covered. News site MCU Exchange (via io9) recently discovered the Amazon page for an upcoming comic book prequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming titled Spider-Man: Homecoming Prelude. While that title might be a bit of a clunker  —  no worse than the Mission: Impossible variants, I suppose  —  this does seem to provide an outlet for Marvel to tell the origin story of Spider-Man without bogging down valuable screen time in the process.

Here is the full description for the two-part Spider-Man: Homecoming Prelude miniseries, courtesy of the Amazon page:

You adored his introduction in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, you can’t wait for his Hollywood Homecoming — now really get to know the Spider-Man of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in this prelude to his big-screen solo adventure! So there you have it, fans.
