I have been working in radio for almost twenty years.  I don't know if I buy the old saying that time flies when you're having fun, but it's been a great run.  I have been with you here in the Treasure Valley for over five years and I have to thank you for starting your day with me.

I have learned so much from you.  Whether it's working with Reverend Bill at the Boise Rescue Mission, or living at the Canyon County Animal Shelter, we've gotten around.  I don't believe there is another show in the country that has the interaction that we share daily.  That work was recognized recently by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB).  They awarded me the Marconi Award for the Medium Market Personality of the Year.

The Marconi Awards are the highest honor a broadcaster can achieve.  They're presented by the NAB and are named after Guglielmo Marconi, the inventor of radio.  I was nominated once before and I really wanted to win it this year, until I realized something.

We had already won, whether it was official or not.  Everyday we gather news and opinion and discuss the issues that impact our lives.  We also go on walks, live on the street, and raise money for local groups.  We may not always agree, but we work hard to find solutions and that's a good thing.

It may say my name on the award, but it was a result of all our efforts.  We're all in this together and I wanted to thank you for your trust and patience.  I know you have a lot of choices in the morning and I'm blessed to be a part of your day.

God Bless,

Kevin
