A Garden City Police officer was injured Sunday night by a man who had already been involved in a fight at the Revolution Events Center.
Garden City police say they responded to the events center on Glenwood Street just before 10 PM Sunday.
When officers arrived, they found security staff holding 21-year-old German Avalos down near the front door. Police say Avalos hit a security officer earlier in the night. When officers tried to take him into custody, Avalos resisted arrest and injured Officer Drew Canfield’s shoulder during a scuffle.
Garden City Police Chief James Bensley says Canfield suffered a shoulder injury but should be back at work in a few weeks.
