Beginning at about midnight last night, a blazing fire charred more than 2,500 acres and destroyed one home and an outbuilding near Table Rock.

According to KTVB, investigators have confirmed that the blaze was started by fireworks being set off near the Boise Foothills. Threatening hundreds of homes in the Boise Foothills, the fire was sixty percent contained by 11 a.m., according to the Bureau of Land Management. The fire is not expected to be fully contained until 8 p.m. on Thursday.

Fire officials said that residents are not in immediate danger and no mandatory evacuations are in place. According to BLM fire information officer Brandon Hampton, crews are "actively engaged" in getting a handle on the fire. He also said that most of the active flames have been knocked down and crews are currently focusing on mop-up, however the fire still isn't one hundred percent contained.

Warm Springs Avenue, Table Rock Road, Shaw Mountain Road, Wildhorse Lane and other roads are currently closed within the area. To allow firefighters to focus on getting the fire under control, the public has been asked to stay away from the area.

No one was injured in the fire and even though BLM officials originally said that four structures were destroyed, Boise Fire Chief Dennis Doan later revised that number to two. Doan said that the Red Cross and the Burnout Fund will give help to the family whose house was destroyed in the fire. The fire chief has also asked people to refrain from flying drones over the fire.

According to KTVB, Boise resident Taylor Kemp said that he saw people up on Table Rock shooting off fireworks and as he watched, one of the fireworks tipped over and shot into the dry field, setting it on fire. "As soon as it happened, they booked it," he said.

Currently, no arrests have been made and at the moment it's unclear whether suspects have been identified.
