Closer to Heaven - Tour of Mountain Homes and Historic Buildings in the Idaho City Area
Join your friends and neighbors to help a good cause and enjoy a great outing visiting five interesting private homes and three historic buildings, rarely open to the public, in the beautiful Idaho City area. Visit inside an authentic Victorian house built in the 1860’s, and the cozy cabin built and owned by Outdoor Idaho’s Bruce Reichert. The historic buildings include the Odd Fellow’s Lodge – 1875, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church – 1867, and the Pon Yam House – 1865. Moving at your own pace, enjoy this self-guided driving tour; the roads are easy, the locations well-marked.
This is a fundraiser for Mountain Kids Day Camp, a faith-based camp where all 80 kids attended camp at no charge. The Idaho City Senior Center serves as Tour Headquarters; tickets will be exchanged for a brochure/map and a potato bar lunch will be served for only $5. Presale tickets available for $10 at www.nampacivicenter.com, 468-5555, and the Idaho City Visitors Center. Tickets on the day of the event are $15, (cash and checks only) at the Senior Center. Help support the Idaho City community by attending this event!
