Full of revelation though the latest Game of Thrones may have been, Tormund and Brienne shippers could only add a few more stolen glances to the newly fan-favorite pairing. That is, until we see the Mean Girls teasing scene Gwendoline Christie reveals was ultimately cut from last night’s “The Door.”

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Christie set all our hearts aflutter with her own endearment of the lustful pairing, one “Book of the Stranger“ director Daniel Sackheim identified as one-sided for the moment. In addition to stifling laughter at every one of Kristofer Hivju’s stolen glances, Christie also revealed a deleted exchange which saw Sansa “going Mean Girls” on Brienne to tease her of Tormund’s interest, after which “you had the powerful warrior who’s totally flustered.”

Christie herself at least revels in the embarrassment, saying:

I enjoyed Brienne being put in that position of feeling awkward and not wanting the attention. That was a very fun thing to play. He’s a wildling, he’s very sensual and animal-like and very forthright with his emotions and feelings — which is really the opposite of [Brienne]. I enjoyed trying to navigate that and the beauty of her embarrassment. She can totally deal with the situation, and with him, but she’s just so embarrassed about it.

It doesn’t seem terribly likely of Season 6 to linger on Tormund and Brienne’s whirlwind romance, what with the former accompanying Jon to help rally the north, while the latter heads to Riverrun to recruit a revitalized House Tully, but will the star-crossed lovers ever meet again?
