Idaho Lt. Governor Brad Little made it official today by filing for paperwork to run for governor according to multiple published reports.  Little becomes the first candidate in an expected tough primary fight to succeed Idaho Governor Butch Otter.  The Idaho Statesman was the first to report that Little will make it official what has long been speculated across the Gem State.  He told the paper that he expects to be an underdog in the presumed crowed GOP field.

Little's move will now put pressure on former Senator Russ Fulcher and First District Congressman Raul Labrador to decide if they will join the field.  The Emmett Rancher will look to solidify his support before any other challengers enter the field.

This has been the worst kept secret in Idaho Politics, as Little has gradually raised his profile in the last few years.  It's common to see him standing in for Governor Otter at events across the state.  The Lt.Gov has raised his profile by running commercials during the GOP Presidential Primary Debates.
